Yes, we are able to backup Windows XP, Mac and certain Linux laptop computers. These are easily integrated into your main office backup or can be backed up a seperate entities.
This depends on how much data you have to backup. As we only send the delta changes to your backup set each night, you are able to backup a large amount of data with a small internet connection. We recomend an internet connection of ADSL or higher, please contact one of our technical staff to find out based on your requirements.
You can restore data immiediately online using your software at any time. For larger amounts of data, these can be shipped to you or returned to you with an engineer to our Service Levels. Please see our service levels for more information or call one our sales team to talk about your specific data restoration requirements.
If you have a large data loss or have lost your entire site, data can be returned to you in various ways governed by your service level. Usually data is returned to you within 24 hours with an engineer if you require. If you suscribe to either our free loan server service or our virtual disaster recovery service data can be returned even faster.
Yes, we back up many 24 hour companies and companies with global offices. Our engineers can use various scheduling and real time backup technologies within our Arxcis software to ensure your systems are backed up even while you are working.
Nobody can see your data except you. Once you have entered your encryption key within the software, all data is encrypted before transmissio. We are unable to read your data, nor is anybody else unless you give them your encryption key. For more information, please see the security section of our website.
No, not at all. We act as the backup administrators for many of our customers ensuring that from identification of key data to daily running of the backups, there is no intervention required. You or your technical team can have as little or as much interaction with your backups as you wish.
Yes, we have a Java client which is avilable from which you can access your backups from anywhere in the world. Please talk to our technical support or sales team for more information.
No, customers are able to backup Exchange, Lotus Notes and Groupwise at message level enabling customers to retore a single email, entire user or selected folders while the mail server is running.
Our software is compatible with the most widely used applications today. This list is always growing as time goes on and it is likely that any applications you use can be backed up using Arxcis. If you are in any doubt, please talk to our technical support team about any applications that you are using and we will talk to the manufacturer to ensure the correct backup protocol is used.
No Arxcis is fully compatible with VMWare and can backup and restore both physical and virtual machines and restore from physical to virtual and virtual to physical.
Yes, we have many customers who backup global locations. This is entirely transparent to the user and allows for independent or centrally managed backups through your software interface. We are also able to centrally invoice or invoice to cost centre as required by larger or global organisations.
Yes, we actively encourage all of our customers to carry out periodic test restores of data. One of our engineers can be avilable to assist with this, please give us a couple of days notice for test restores if possible.
Yes, we are fully compatible with Lotus Notes and we can back it up at message level.

No, the Arxcis software is agentless which means that you can either install it on it's own server, an existing server or multiple servers on your network depending on your requirements. For users over 250GB of data, Databarracks install a dedicated server on your network.
Databarracks are able to install and configure your backups for you. If you are in any doubt, please call our technical team for assitance, there are never any charges for using our support.
Databarracks have several ways of reporting backups to our customers. You are able to recieve a daily report via email of all your backups or look in the software interface in the reporting section. If you do not backup when you are scheduled, however, Databarracks engineers will call you to inform you that a backup has been missed.
Backups can be run to a schedule or in real time. Databarracks are able to limit bandwidth or schedule your backups so that there is no interference with your day to day operations.
Reporting is avilable on every aspect of the running of the backups, from logging of backed up data through to space used, storage trends, server performance and billing information. The reporting in the software is fully configurable to your specifications. Please ask one of our team if you have any special requirements.
Yes absolutely. Arxcis from Databarracks is a much more resilient, reliable and flexible solution than any tape backup system avilable on the market today.
Like any aspect of our service delivery, we are able to tailor it to suit a customers individual requirements. We never pigeon hole our customers or their needs, our Service Levels and our packages are written to accomodate the majority of businesses with whom we work but we are always ready to provide special terms or solutions to customers who need something different.
Yes, we are able to prioritise the recovery of data to suit your business needs. We can get the most business critical applications up first and then restore secondary sytems after that.
If you subscribe for the free loan server service from Databarracks you are able to loan the server for thirty days by default. If you require more time than this though, please call our team to arrange special provision.
Yes, we encourage all customers to use the local cached copy option within the software and for customers over 50GB we will provide a local storage device within the cost of the service.
This is fully configurable within the software. You are able to keep one generation through to infinite generations of your data. We have extensive generation and retention rules which allow you to store copies of data by version, by time or both.
The answer is simple, you can keep generations of your data for as long or a little time as you like. This is configurable within the software and one of our technical team can help you configure this if you require. Some industries like to keep data for certain amounts of time and we are able to completely configure our system to allow different data types to be kept for different periods. Please see our section on Information Lifecycle or call one of our team for more information.
As long as you have the encryption keys you are able to restore data to any compatible hardware in any location in the world.
We are able to configure backups so that they do not impact on the running of your internet connection. If you are running backups in real time, the software will allow data to be sent when the internet connection is available to do so. Overnight we are able to limit the bandwidth that you are able to send at if you wish.
Yes, the software has many filters available within it so you can remove any photos, mp3, video or other files that you wish from your users folders or any other backup set you may require.

Yes, your backup is neither location or hardware specific. This means if you move office or wish to change servers your backup is immediately transportable without the need to re-send your data.
Yes, Arxcis can be configured with both private keys which can be different for each site in your company and public keys which can be shared between multiple locations. This ensures that each of your companies departments can be isolated from each other if required while at the same time you are able to centrally administer each site.
