Replication
As well as ensuring that all of our backup systems are always available, the security and availability of our customers data is of course paramount. All data is stored on our RAID5 configured Equallogic SANs, which give us a fast and reliabile way of saving and restoring customers data. RAID5 means that all data is stored on our SANs across multiple drives which means the data is not susceptable to individual disk failure. As well as this, all of our data is replicated, or copied in real-time to a second set of Equallogic SANs which are kept in a different area of our primary data centre.
Combined with the local storage option of data within the customers site, this means that there are always four copies of your data to retrieve from.
- 1. Your live data
- 2. Your local cached copy of your backup data
- 3. The primary copy of data on our systems
- 4. The seconday copy of data on our systems
Where additional replication is required, we can arrange for the data to be further replicated to our secondary data centre at the Greenham Common Airbase in Newbury, Berkshire.
