Online Backup Disaster Recovery

Virtual Disaster Recovery of Networks

If a company has a disaster which leaves them with no access to their premises or their systems or both; recovery is the sole focus of all involved, as it will always involve loss of revenue consequent to business downtime.

In the past, companies would need access to a secondary disaster recovery location built with servers and desktops, before they would be able to think about the restoration of data. This is an expensive proposition and has stopped companies from promoting adequate recovery scenarios for their business critical systems.

With virtual disaster Recovery used in conjunction with Arxcis managed online backup, businesses can now recover servers and applications quickly and deliver their entire infrastructure back to users in a serviced office, disaster recovery location or any other place where a user is connected to the internet (from home or remote sites, for example).

Virtual Disaster recovery – How it works:

1. A company subscribes to Databarracks Arxcis managed online backup service and virtual Disaster Recovery.

2. As part of the service, Databarracks will configure virtual switches and network settings in our VDR platform.

3. Databarracks will then configure all of your used business applications in our VDR platform.

4. Backups run normally across the WAN, either to a schedule or in real-time (continuous data protection – CDP)

5. In the event of a failure of your entire system, you phone Databarracks free technical support line 24/7/365 and request a virtual recovery.

6. Databarracks will restore all of your servers into our virtual disaster recovery platform.

7. Databarracks will then deploy all of you applications into our Citrix application delivery platform which forms part of our virtual disaster recovery system.

8. We will then send you a link to our VDR portal and your users are able to log on.

9. Users will then have access to the applications that they usually see.

10. Databarracks physically deliver your backed up data you and recover either into a VMWare loan server provided by us, or into your replacement hardware.

11. Changes are pushed across into your new hardware and your virtual image is deleted.

12. Your network is back!
