Virtual Disaster Recovery of Single Server

Usually when a company experiences a disaster it is localised to a single server. Drive failure or corruption can render a server inoperable at any time. When this happens, unless a business has replacement hardware in stock, it usually takes 24 hours before a new server can be delivered. For most business, this is too long to be without many of their critical applications or files. With Virtual disaster recovery, having replacement hardware is no longer an issue.

VDR can deliver a single server back into a customers network in anywhere between 30 minutes and a few hours.

Here is how it works:

1. A company subscribes to Databarracks Arxcis managed online backup service and virtual Disaster Recovery.

2. As part of the service, Databarracks will configure secure VPN and virtual switches for the customer in our VDR platform.

3. Backups run normally across the WAN, either to a schedule or in real-time (continuous data protection – CDP)

4. In the event of a single server failure, you phone Databarracks free technical support line 24/7/365 and request a virtual recovery.

5. Databarracks will restore your server into our virtual disaster recovery platform and connect it back to your network over secure VPN tunnels.

6. Your users are able to access the server as if nothing had happened, though depending on your internet connection you may experience some latency for heavy loads such as mail servers or databases.

7. Databarracks physically deliver your backed up data you and recover either into a loan server provided by us, or into your replacement hardware.

8. Changes are pushed across into your new hardware and your virtual image is deleted.

9. Your server is back!
