Databarracks Are Proud To Backup The People Who Backup Our Soldiers

Great Britain has an Army to be proud of. As one of the most
highly trained and versatile armies in the World, it has kept us
secure for hundreds of years. You can be sure that, as we enter
uncertain times, our Army will be there for us. In return the ABF
gives people the opportunity to repay this trust in cases of those
who have fallen on hard times and need a hand up. The Army
Benevolent Fund (ABF) is the Soldiers' Charity. They provide
support to soldiers, former soldiers and their families in times of
need.
Today the Army Benevolent Fund is like any modern charity; they
are reliant on their IT systems to ensure that the money that they
raise can be properly and quickly administered to those that need
it the most. Their systems have to be secure due to the nature of
the organisation and information has to be readily available and
quickly in the event of a systems failure, therefore online backup
seemed the perfect choice.
The Army Benevolent Fund needed a reliable and managed offsite
backup service which would ensure the security of their information
as well as ensuring that it was taken offsite and stored in a very
secure location. They also needed a solution which would fit into
their current Disaster Recovery plans with little or no major
alterations to existing Disaster Recovery strategies.
Databarracks implemented a fully managed online backup solution
based around the Asigrasoftware which automatically backs up data
across a predominantly Windows system running Exchange, SQL, Active
Directory and File and Print servers. "We wanted a solution which
would allow us to not only rely on a third party to monitor and
manage our day to day backup operations, but we also wanted to be
able to administer the system ourselves if we wished. Databarracks
allows us to administer as much of our own backups as we like
internally, whilst using their system, but we also know that they
are monitoring our backups for us on a daily basis. If something
goes wrong we feel safe in the knowledge that they will give us a
call and let us know before we have even seen that there is a
problem."
"The Army Benevolent Fund is pleased to be working with
Databarracks. The set-up and implementation of our offsite
backup project was first-class. The software is simple to use, well
supported, and it works..." (Andrew Brady, IT Manager ABF)
Preet Ramanuj from Databarracks said "We are all extremely proud
to be chosen as suppliers to such a great charity. We have
thousands of companies from all around the world on our books, but
there is always something special about being able to help an
organisation who spends all of its time doing such worthwhile
work."
