Databarracks provides YO! Sushi with a scalable backup service

YO! Sushi serves over 3 million customers each year throughout
the UK and across the globe in Moscow, Dublin, Dubai and Kuala
Lumpur. They are one of the world's most famous Sushi brands and
are the market leader in Sushi restaurants, preparing over 90
Japanese freshly inspired menu items every day.
YO! Sushi may be all about the finest quality Sushi on the
market, but under the surface they are a company whose dependence
on technology to deliver services to their stores and customers is
second to none. YO! Sushi relies on a myriad of IT systems, from
email and database servers; through to EPOS (Electronic Point of
Sale) and Cognos to help run their business as efficiently as
possible.
YO! Sushi were reliant on a manual backup system using tapes
which had to be taken offsite and stored, however this was leaving
YO! Sushi exposed should a system failure have occurred over a
weekend. Billy Waters, YO! Sushi's IT Manager said "With a busy IT
Department, we at YO! Sushi were struggling to ensure complete and
secure backups were being taken on a regular basis using tapes,
particularly over the weekend when a large number of our
transactions take place. As we already had considerable available
bandwidth, it made sense to move to an online solution and after a
successful trial Databarracks are now managing and monitoring our
backups leaving us assured that we can recover any data at
anytime."
Databarracks implemented an online backup solution based around
the Asigra software to backup data across a variety of Windows
servers including Exchange, SQL, Cognos and YO! Sushi's EPOS system
which protects approximately 1.5TB of data.
