Virtual disaster Recovery (VDR) is available to customers who use Databarracks' Online Backup Software and fully Managed Online Backup service. Virtual Disaster Recovery gives a platform from which 'bare metal backups' of a single server or multiple servers can be quickly recovered into Databarracks' Virtual Disaster Recovery platform. These server images can then quickly be shared back to you either individually or in the event of a catastrophic loss of your site, as a whole.

Users are then able to logon to Databarrack's VDR platform which will deliver applications and the underlying server infrastructure to users who can work from any internet connected machine, anywhere in the world.

Disaster Recovery

Template virtual servers are created in our resilient VMware virtual environment ready for restoration of your data.  Databarracks setup VPNs to any Disaster Recovery sites and application delivery through Citrix for remote access.

In the event of server failure and major data recovery is required; our team of engineers immediately perform a restore of the latest backup of your data into the Virtual Disaster Recovery environment using our Online Backup Software.  The Online Backup Software is able to perform physical to virtual (p2v) or virtual to virtual (v2v) restores so you are able to include both from your production environment.

The restore occurs over Highly Available aggregated links between the DS-System and the Virtual Disaster Recovery environment.  Servers are restored in priority order, starting with Active Directory and the most business critical systems.

Your team are then enabled to connect to your entire system hosted at our data centre using Citrix or a Terminal Server to continue working from home or a workplace relocation office.
