Ready to Bridge the Gap Between Business and Technology?
Join Databarracks as a Senior Consultant and become the vital link between business continuity and IT resilience. You’ll work with some of the UK’s most forward-thinking organisations, helping them build robust, integrated resilience programmes that actually work when it matters most.
This isn’t your typical BC role. We’re looking for someone who gets excited about both boardroom strategy and server rooms – someone who can translate business requirements into technical solutions and make complex IT concepts accessible to senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Client-Facing Excellence (70%)
- Lead resilience assessments combining business continuity and IT service continuity perspectives
- Design and facilitate crisis management exercises that test both business processes and technology recovery
- Develop integrated BC/DR strategies that align business needs with IT capabilities
- Present to C-suite executives on resilience programme maturity and recommendations
- Mentor client teams on best practices for business-technology resilience integration
Business Development & Innovation (20%)
- Contribute to proposals and tenders, particularly those requiring technical BC/DR expertise
- Identify opportunities to expand client relationships through integrated resilience services
- Support pre-sales activities with prospects seeking comprehensive resilience solutions
Internal Excellence (10%)
- Collaborate with our technology teams to ensure seamless service delivery
- Contribute to our methodologies and intellectual property development
- Mentor junior consultants in technical aspects of resilience
What We’re Looking For:
Essential Experience:
- 2-5 years in business continuity, crisis management, or IT service management
- Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud services, and disaster recovery concepts
- Experience facilitating exercises and delivering training to diverse audiences
- Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple client workstreams
- Excellent written communication – you’ll be crafting reports that influence major business decisions
Technical Skills:
- Understanding of RTO/RPO concepts and how they translate between business and IT
- Familiarity with ITIL, ISO 22301, and ideally ISO 27031 (IT Disaster Recovery)
- Appreciation of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and their resilience capabilities
- Knowledge of backup, replication, and recovery technologies (you don’t need to configure them!)
Professional Qualities:
- CBCI qualified or committed to achieving within 12 months
- Natural curiosity about how technology enables business objectives
- Confidence to challenge clients constructively and diplomatically
- Enthusiasm for continuous learning in our rapidly evolving field
Why You’ll Love Working Here
Professional Growth: Clear progression pathway from Senior Consultant through Principal to Director level, with structured competency development and regular career conversations.
Variety & Challenge: No two days are the same. One day you’re facilitating a crisis simulation for a major bank, the next you’re presenting resilience strategy to a manufacturing board.
Expert Colleagues: Work alongside recognised industry experts who regularly speak at conferences and contribute to industry standards.
Client Impact: Help organisations build genuine resilience capabilities that protect jobs, reputation, and shareholder value when disruption strikes.
Work-Life Balance: Flexible hybrid working with genuine autonomy over your schedule, plus comprehensive benefits package including health insurance and professional development budget.
