Why this role matters
As Databarracks continues to expand, consistent, high-quality project delivery is fundamental to our reputation and growth. The PMO plays a central role in ensuring customer onboarding and migration projects run smoothly, efficiently and predictably. This role exists to bring structure, governance and continuous improvement to our project delivery function – reducing risk, improving margins and ensuring every client experience reflects the resilience we stand for.
The role and responsibilities
- Lead and scale the PMO function, driving consistent, high-quality project delivery
- Implement and optimise governance, methodologies and delivery standards
- Oversee the project portfolio to ensure delivery on time, within scope, and to commercial targets
- Align delivery capacity with sales pipeline and product roadmap, managing risks proactively
- Own financial oversight including forecasting, utilisation, margin and revenue recognition
- Provide clear reporting on performance, risks and resource capacity to senior leadership
- Lead, develop and mentor Project Managers and PMO team members
- Embed strong risk, quality and compliance controls across the delivery lifecycle
- Ensure seamless transition from project delivery into BAU service
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Pre-Sales, Engineering and Service teams
- Drive continuous improvement, efficiency and automation across delivery processes
The candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
- 10+ years’ senior delivery leadership experience within technology services, MSP, cloud or infrastructure environments, with a strong track record delivering BaaS, DRaaS, cloud migrations, infrastructure modernisation and resilience solutions across multiple concurrent client engagements.
- Proven experience operating within a managed services/recurring revenue model, with strong commercial awareness, cost-to-serve, SLA frameworks, onboarding efficiency and service transition from project delivery into BAU support.
- Demonstrated leadership of a PMO function (5+ years), designing and embedding scalable governance frameworks, methodologies, risk controls and portfolio reporting across pre-sales, delivery and service transition.
- Establish and maintain strong financial governance across the delivery portfolio, overseeing forecasting, revenue recognition, margin management, and structured reporting of status, risks and resource capacity. Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and the Board on portfolio performance.
- Executive-level influence with the ability to align delivery capacity to sales pipeline and product roadmap, constructively challenge commitments where risk exists and present portfolio performance and constraints at board level.
- Experience operating within ISO-aligned, compliance-driven and security-sensitive environments, embedding assurance, risk management and quality controls into the full delivery lifecycle, particularly within regulated sectors.
- Strong people leadership capability, managing and developing Project Managers, PMO Analysts and technical teams, driving continuous improvement through lessons learned, process optimisation and automation, and fostering a high-performance culture focussed on accountability and client satisfaction.
