The role

As Marketing Director at Databarracks, you’ll drive our growth by leading customer acquisition, conversion optimisation, and brand positioning. You’ll craft and deliver data-driven marketing strategies that generate high-quality leads, enhance conversions and position us as a leader in IT resilience. Working closely with sales, operations, and customer services teams, you’ll ensure joined-up delivery and alignment with business goals. You’ll also lead a talented marketing team, inspiring them to do their best work, and giving them the direction to make a real impact.

The responsibilities

1) Growth and sales marketing
  • Lead generation: Design and execute lead generation strategies to increase the top-of-funnel leads, using digital marketing channels, content marketing, and performance-driven campaigns.
  • Conversion optimisation: Work closely with the sales team to optimise lead conversion and nurture strategies, ensuring seamless transitions from lead generation to sales conversion.
  • Customer acquisition: Develop and implement strategies for customer acquisition that align with our sales funnel and growth targets. Utilise data-driven approaches to continually improve acquisition channels.
  • Go-to-Market strategies: Lead product launches, ensuring cross-functional alignment between product, marketing, and sales teams, focusing on maximising impact and adoption.

 

2) Branding marketing and positioning 
  • Brand strategy: Own the company’s brand strategy, ensuring consistent messaging across all touchpoints, and strengthening Databarracks’ position as an industry leader in IT resilience.
  • Market research: Conduct regular market and competitor research to understand customer needs, identify market trends, and refine our marketing and positioning strategies.
  • Thought leadership: Establish Databarracks as a thought leader in IT resilience, driving brand awareness through content creation, speaking opportunities, and strategic partnerships.
  • Product positioning: Collaborate with the operations and sales teams to develop and communicate the value proposition of Databarracks’ IT resilience solutions in a way that resonates with target industries.

 

3) Leadership and collaboration
  • Team management: Lead and mentor a high-performing marketing team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with sales, product, and engineering teams to ensure marketing strategies align with business goals, customer needs, and product developments.
  • Metrics and reporting: Regularly track and report on KPIs related to lead generation, customer acquisition, brand awareness, and marketing ROI, using data to inform ongoing strategies.

 

The candidate

We’re looking for an experienced, results-driven marketing leader with a proven track record in growth marketing, sales enablement and brand strategy. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in driving customer acquisition, conversion optimisation and brand building. You should be highly analytical, data-driven and passionate about using marketing to fuel business growth. You’ll have a strong ability to collaborate cross-functionally, lead a team and deliver marketing initiatives that support our wider business goals. 

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience (10+ years) in growth marketing, sales marketing, and brand marketing within B2B or SaaS environments, preferably in professional services IT services or technology.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, lead generation, conversion optimisation, content strategy, and product marketing.
  • Experience with tools and platforms for marketing automation, CRM (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce), and analytics (Google Analytics, etc.).
  • A data-driven mindset with the ability to analyse performance, optimise campaigns, and present results.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with teams to align marketing initiatives with broader company goals.
  • Leadership experience, with a track record of building and leading effective teams.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Sales enablement: Strong understanding of how marketing supports sales, with experience optimising lead generation, nurturing, and conversion strategies.

  • Data-driven decision making: Comfort with analysing data, running experiments, and optimising campaigns based on insights.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Experience working closely with sales, product, and customer success teams to align marketing efforts with business objectives.
  • Team leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a high-performing marketing team.
  • Communication and project management: Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
