The Role

The objective of the role is to build a successful relationship with potential and new customers, to understand their technical requirements and environment, match to and design an appropriate solution with them and over see the onboarding of them through to business as usual status.  This will be delivered to ensure that the customer has an entirely positive experience.

The Responsibilities

  • Lead on technical pre-sales function for all technical matters
  • Work with the project team to onboard new clients
  • Ensure documentation is complete and up to date
  • Drive and continually improve client service, internal processes and systems
  • Be the technical lead and escalation point for Pre-Sales and Onboarding working alongside Sales and Project Management and Technical Departments
  • React and respond positively to day-to-day incidents and changes related to Pre-Sales and Onboarding issues
  • Analyse and implement decisions that relate to ensure the customer gets the right solution and best service experience
  • Perform problem / change management

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have

  • A proven track record of being a successful customer-facing lead Commvault backup engineer with a strong interest and experience in pre-sales and onboarding
  • Proven track record of successful depth of experience in disaster recovery
  • Strong client management experience with a strong leadership presence
  • A focussed operational background as well as excellent technical, troubleshooting skills and communications skills
  • A solid understanding of cloud technologies, virtualisation and storage integration
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT infrastructure
  • Experience of configuring and managing backup solutions for public cloud
  • Experience of backup for Office365 using Commvault
  • Experience configuring, managing and troubleshooting Commvault Virtual Server Agent, Intellisnap, replication (Live Sync etc)
  • Experience configuring, managing and troubleshooting Commvault SQL Server, Oracle, Exchange and Archiving iData agents
  • Strong presentation and documentation skills
  • Clear communication skills and style with the ability to listen well, summarise and feedback
  • Windows system administration skills
  • Hardware troubleshooting on Windows and Linux based systems

  • Commvault Certified Professional* (Core Fundamentals Exam/Implementation & Maintenance Exam)
  • Commvault Certified Engineer*
  • Commvault Certified Specialist (Virtualisation Exam/Storage Exam)
  • Commvault Certified Master (Certified Master Exam)
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) (365 suite)
  • Microsoft Certified Professional
  • VMWare Certified Professional
  • Accreditation in other enterprise backup technologies
  • Working knowledge of Zerto and Azure site recovery – completed training courses ideal but not essential

  • Ability to learn quickly and share knowledge
  • Ability to prioritise workload to ensure that team targets are met
